Is the full general consensus that mobil 1 synthetic 75w90 is one of the best to apply for tundra differentials? Too is information technology really necessary to replace the washers when you change differential fluid?

Can't go wrong with Mobil 1 Synthetic in the diff. In that location may exist something more than severe duty for 4x4's that I am non aware of.

Mobile 1 75w-90 is great for almost owners. I was using it for a while early on but switched to Lucas 75w-90 a few oil changes ago. Both are skillful choices.

I have been using redline in my Tacoma and will do so in the Tundra as well. You can also become it in 75w85 like is recommended.
  7. Redline or Mobil1 only in my Diffs and manual trannies since 2006ish.
  8. Have AMSOIL in both my diffs.

I use Redline Synthetic 75W140 in the Tundra(tow rig). I use Redline Constructed 75W140ns in the rear of my 4Runner with a Spartan locker. Information technology was an improvement over the 75W90 in how the locker operated. I plan on switching it out for their Heavy Shockproof. My friend says information technology really helped tame the lockers nasty locking/unlocking/banging on the street.

Not to loftier jack the thread, but I thought that the Dealer was the best LSD Gear Oil. Male child was I wrong. But this is what I establish out. The dealer told be they use the synthetic 75W-85 TL in all Tundras. And so, I spent $36/Fifty for iii which is 0.2L brusk. Afterwards the oil alter the clutch pads were locked or bounden on slow turns.

Come up to observe out the new 'TL' is only for '08 forwards according Toyota Service Builtin issued in 2008.

The Owners Manual calls for (Conventional) Hypoid 80W-90 API GL-five.
Dealer Gave me Syn. Toyota Sym. Gear Oil LT 75W-85 API GL-5
I went back to my records at 60K and I used Sym. Mobil 1 LS Gear Oil 75W-90
Castrol has an exact match to the owners spec.

Would you use the verbal match or what worked final time?

  18. I'm using Mobil 1 LS Gear Oil 75W-90 in my diffs right at present with no bug.

Drained the 'Toyota Express Slip Differential 75W-85 gear oil TL GL-5' recommended by Dealer because clutch plates were binding and shuddering when turning. Installed 'Castrol 80W-90 (GL-5)', works corking at present. The Toyota LSD-TL gear oil provided by Dealer is only for 2008 and newer per service bulletin T-SB-0118-08 July 25 2008.

I bought some 75W-90 M1 Total synthetic but it does not say LS on information technology. Think that's OK? Merely for my differentials.

That is fine. You don't have a mechanical Limited Slip differential (unless y'all installed ane).

LOL that'southward what I have in mine but I've only got about 20,000 on the fluid. Started hearing a few things that information technology wasn't that great and then decided to switch over to M1.

Delight keep in mind Toyota made a mfg change on the t-case. As far as I know, there is non a "like" U.s.a. gear oil 75w that's "approved" by aftermarket oil mfgs for the fourteen+ t-case by Borg worner.

Edit - you mentioned diffs not a 4x4 service overall. Lots of good diff oils out there, I just have the dealership practise it because the toll I get isn't worth my time to practise it.

Be advised that the Tundra 'TL' is only for '08 forward according Toyota Service Builtin issued in 2008. The 2004 LSD Owners Transmission calls for (Conventional) Hypoid 80W-90 API GL-5. At 60K I tried Sym. Mobil one LS Gear Oil 75W-90 and drained it at 70K and it was total of 'glitter'. So at 70k, I switched to Castrol which has an verbal match to the owners spec.

Doesn't the Mobil one 75w90 LS also meet API GL-five? According to their website information technology does.
